How to level a washing machine with your phone

Short answer: lay the phone flat on top of the machine, see which edge is low, turn that front foot until the bubble is in the middle, then lock the feet.

Why it matters

A washing machine that isn't level shakes during spinning, can walk across the floor and wears its drum bearings faster. A fridge that leans the wrong way may not close its door by itself. Both take five minutes to fix.

Step by step

  1. Lay the phone flat in the middle of the top of the machine. Loodis shows the round bullseye level.
  2. Read the guidance, for example Raise the left edge. Both directions are shown at once: left–right and front–back.
  3. Turn the adjustable foot on the low side (usually the front feet) to raise it. Turn the other one down if it's too high.
  4. Check again until the bubble is in the circle and the phone vibrates.
  5. Press down on each corner – the machine must not rock. Tighten the lock nuts on the feet.

Which corner?

When both directions are off, the corner guide (Pro) tells you exactly which corner to raise, so you turn one foot instead of trying all four.

For a fridge, many manufacturers recommend tilting it slightly backwards so the door closes by itself – check the manual. Loodis shows exactly how many degrees it leans.
