Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask about Loodis, the bubble level and angle meter for Android.
Using Loodis
How do I switch between the bubble and the tube level?
You don't have to. In Auto mode Loodis sees how you hold the phone: lying flat gives the round bullseye, standing on its long edge gives the tube, upright against a wall gives the plumb view. You can also choose a mode yourself.
What does Hold do?
Hold freezes the level picture with the reading, the time and all units, so you can read it after taking the phone away or take a screenshot to send.
What is the tolerance?
How close to level counts as level. Choose 0.1°, 0.25°, 0.5°, 1° or your own value in Settings. Within the tolerance the reading is green and the phone vibrates.
Can I use Loodis with a case?
Yes. Calibrate with the case on. If you change the case, calibrate again.
Does it work on tablets?
Yes, Loodis works on Android phones and tablets, in portrait and landscape.
Accuracy and calibration
How accurate is Loodis?
It shows the tilt to 0.1°. After calibration a phone is typically within about 0.1–0.2°. Read the full answer.
Do I need a level surface to calibrate?
No. Loodis turns the phone around on the same spot, so the tilt of the table cancels out. How it works.
Why does my phone show a tilt on a level table?
Every phone sensor is slightly off, and cases and camera bumps tilt the phone. Run the calibration once to remove it.
